Hunting

Quail Hunt 2007 with Chris Lee, Rob Carmichael, Jamie Goodwin, and the real hunters Scout and Jesse. Hunters are the original conservationists and the Ten Rivers Chapter strives to preserve the hunting heritage that the chapter members and their friends and family hold so dear. Whether it be taking youth out on their first hunt, or explaining the value of spending time afield to the public, the chapter works tirelessly to ensure that our sport, and the game we persue, thrive in posterity.

A youth with a pile of pheasants from a great day's hunt. In northeast Missouri, quail numbers have been declining for years, and pheasant populations are nearly nonexistant in many areas. Consequently, Missouri has seen fewer and fewer people each year spend time pursuing what was once the state's most popular game bird. As a chapter, we hope to eventually reverse that trend by ensuring there are plenty of birds to hunt and that there are plenty of people exposed to the sport. To us, there is nothing better than trailing an excited bird dog on a crisp fall morning. We want to be sure our children, and all the generations to come, have the chance to enjoy the sport as much as we have.

There's a storm coming to the nation's prairies.
